Science versus faith - does science contradict faith?

The left tends to label Christians as ignorant science denier intolerant bunch of cross worshipers. Ouch! They use these labels to try to diminish the importance of Faith and exalt science. But what would you say if I told you that science doesn’t contradict Scriptures? That, on the contrary, science only catches up with Scriptures?
You see, my dear friend, science isn’t in conflict with Faith at all. In fact, good science – the one that collects evidence and explains how the world works – is in perfect alignment with the Bible.
Take the big bang theory, for example – it explains the creation of the Universe in one massive explosive expansion. Well, science doesn’t tell you how the explosion came about or what caused it. But the general principle of the big bang theory is in full alignment with Genesis:
Genesis 1 1-3: In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was formless and empty, and darkness covered the deep waters. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the surface o the waters. Then God said, “let there be light”, and there was light.
So you see, my friend, the big bang theory and Creation are in sync.
So why do we have this feeling that we have to pick between science and faith?
Well, this is not a valid choice, you see. You can have both.
The problem with science is not that it contradicts Faith.
The problem with science arises when scientists embark on a mission to deny God.
To the extent that scientists focus on explaining how the world works – like the big bang theory example – everything is in complete harmony. But when scientists start a war against God and Christians, that’s when they run into trouble.
Some of them spend a lifetime trying to disprove God. It’s a lifetime of sorrow, emptiness and some times even cheating. Yes, they sometimes cheat to ‘prove’ their points, which ultimately leads to frustration. Are you one of these scientists? Or are you someone who desperately wants to deny God?
Science cannot disprove God any more than Faith can prove the existence of God.
Pastor Adrian Rogers once said: ‘Going into a laboratory to find God is like taking a piano apart trying to find a song’
Faith is, rather, a matter of the heart.
Both Christians and unbelievers believe in something they cannot prove: Christians believe in God and unbelievers believe there is no God. But they’re both believers of something.
Regardless of whether or not you’re a Christian, you should make sure you’re not fooled by so called ‘scientists’. For example, the theory of evolution is just that – just a theory. It hasn’t been proven, it’s quite flawed (you can read more evolution here) and in order to call it science a group of scientists had to ‘agree’ it was science. In other words...
... there is no evidence, there is no research – just the imagination of one Charles Darwin and the subsequent anti-religious scientists who had no choice but to, by consensus, decide for you that you are supposed to take the theory seriously.
It’s even taught in schools and it passes for science.
But what is the definition of science?
According to Merriam Webster: knowledge about or study of the natural world based on FACTS learned through experiments and observation.
Well, have you learned through experiment and observation that your bicycle can turn (or ‘evolve’) into a BMW thanks to the theory of evolution? Is there any observation of a monkey ever evolving into a child? Are there any facts that prove that man comes from the ape?
Nope – not one single piece of evidence.
By definition, then, the theory of evolution is NOT science.
The fact that a bunch of so called scientists, out of lack of evidence, have to 'agree' that something is true, doesn’t make it true.
But why would anyone come up with such a ridiculous theory and try to pass it for science?
Ah, my dear friend – that’s where the emptiness, sadness, frustration and sorrow that we talked about before kicks in.
You see, these individuals are in the business of killing their own conscience. The idea of God is very disturbing to them – perhaps they like their sins too much, perhaps they refuse to bow down to a supreme being, or perhaps they really never knew Jesus and how they can also be saved.
Whether you’re a believer or not – or rather, whether you believe in God or you believe there is no God – I urge you to understand that God is not in conflict with science. In fact, He gave lots of different talents to hundreds of millions of people throughout history to do such things as saving lives, explaining the world of physics, the world of biology, the cosmos. Our God has given doctors, nurses, physicists, biologists, engineers and so many others the talent to cure, to create, to reach outer space.
Is science in conflict with Faith?
No. But some scientists are. Please don’t confuse science with scientists.
