The riots perpetrated by UC Berkeley students, where they destroyed property and beat other students who oppose their views unconscious, is an indication of how MEDIOCRE American education has become. And I don’t mean just academically. In my many years working for a Silicon Valley company I came to know many young Ivy League school graduates who, in spite of the hundreds of thousands of dollars spent on their education, many didn’t even have common sense to understand that the little financial models they put together somehow need to incorporate elements of reality. These kids only understand spreadsheets – not the real world. I remember one time the company paid for a Stanford ‘Decision Quality’ training class for some of us. The company thought that we weren’t making proper decisions and we needed training, so they hired this Stanford ‘Professor’ and his team. The class cost thousands and thousands of dollars per employee, which the company gladly paid. During the class, we were supposed to run all these complex financial models with tornado charts and all sorts of ‘cool stuff’. Except that the case study we were working on ended up making a recommendation for the fake company owners to go down a certain strategic path that had ‘only a 5% chance of bringing the company to bankruptcy’. I had been a creditor for a long time before this class and based on my experience I objected the recommendation: ‘you never want to do ANYTHING that jeopardizes the viability of the company. There is such thing as growing a company into bankruptcy and as a creditor, if this company in this case study was real, and if they presented this plan to me, I’d cut their credit over poor leadership immediately and tell my business partners in Sales to go find another customer as this one, 5 years from now, will be toast. In fact my credit decision alone would immediately increase that 5% chance to over 20 or 50% chance or more, especially if other creditors follow. Creditors don't like to risk their money on companies which consider business strategies that might lead to bankruptcy. My recommendation for the fake company in this case study is the option of slower, but safer growth.’ Obviously, the ‘geniuses’ at Stanford took my input politely but said that the option of 5% chance of bankruptcy was the official solution to the case. They didn’t even try to defend it. They don’t have the INTELLIGENCE or the COMMON SENSE to revise their own work. They’re stubborn – and dangerous if you hire them as consultants. You see, these academics are just that – academics. After they teach the imaginary world of modeling to their naive students, they go back to their own fake world of computer models. They never have to bear the responsibility of making real life decisions that not only will affect owners, like in the case study, but the hundreds or thousands of employees and their families of a real company. They produce professionals who live in an imaginary world. And they produce professionals like the UC Berkeley students whose imaginary world ONLY includes people who think like they think. They’re absolutely immature, but they’re also FUNDAMENTALISTS. The only places where you have one official opinion only, where it’s OK for the ruling class to beat up its opponents like UC Berkely students did, are in COMMUNIST AND ISLAMIST COUNTRIES. These ignorant students not only are mediocre in their field by virtue of living in a world of spreadsheets. They’re also ignorant of the fact they’re COMMUNISTS and FUNDAMENTALISTS , who in a communist or Islamist country would be also subject to persecution. Furthermore, they’re protesting a Travel Ban that’s trying to prevent bringing Islamist terrorists into this country who want to KILL THEM TOO! This is war alright. But not the kind of war the students are talking about. They may want to stop Trump, kill Trump or kill Trump supporters – all things that really make them no different from Jihadists. Jihadists want to kill me because I’m an infidel. UC Berkeley students want to kill me because I’m a Trump supporter. What do you do with these ignorant students? I say let them be – let them show how violent and STUPID they truly are. Let’s show the world UC Berkeley students aren’t worth the money they’re offered after they graduate. Let’s NOT give them the opportunity to use shareholder money to pay for simplistic and useless financial models and violent behavior. I’ll make a pledge today: I will NEVER hire a UC Berkeley graduate, unless they prove they’re non-violent…and smart. I cannot have my team exposed to someone who is potentially dangerous. I don’t want somebody on my team beat up over some business disagreement with a Jihadist Berkeley graduate. Much like Trump, who wants to protect us from Islamist Jihadists, I have to protect my team from potential danger. Let me use what I learnt (or rather TAUGHT) in Stanford: If there’s a 5% chance that a UC Berkeley graduate is going to kill one of my employees, then I won’t hire the Berkeley graduate. The Stanford ‘Professor’ would take the chance. I won’t. Proverbs 3:31 Do not envy a man of violence. And do not choose any of his ways.
