I’ve talked about this topic extensively already and I’m beginning to sound like a bit of a broken record here, but given that there aren’t that many stories out there that have little or nothing to do with the Wuhan virus, and my desire to give people respite from the constant stress of the situation, I cannot help but talk about this topic again. It particularly doesn’t help that Joe Biden just keeps giving me all the ammo I want here. Last Sunday, the current Democrat front-runner held an interview on ABC’s “This Week” to discuss what I can only assume was the election and the possibility of postponing it as a result of the virus. The reason there is doubt about what he was discussing is because he flubbed his words so badly, it was honestly a bit hard to figure out what exactly he was talking about (and even then, I’m still not too sure he was talking about postponing the election). On the interview, Joe Biden said: “We cannot let this, we’ve never allowed any crisis from the Civil War straight through to the pandemic of 17, all the way around, 16, we have never, never let our democracy sakes second fiddle, way they, we can both have a democracy and elections and at the same time correct the public health.” It sounds like the dude is drunk! Seriously, this is the kind of response you would expect a drunk person to give: jumping from point to point without actually making a point, talking nonsense, saying random words and slurring a bit of his speech (granted, I did not write it like he slurred his speech but watch the video and you will hear what I am talking about). This is the part where I would usually dissect someone’s argument, but I honestly cannot tell what the argument here even is. A writer from Red State figures that, when Joe was talking about “17” and “16”, he was trying to talk about the Spanish Flu… of 1918. I don’t know how they figured that just from those numbers (probably the word “pandemic” before it, but even that one is a bit of a headscratcher), but assuming that that’s right, my goodness, this man is not mentally well at all. Seriously, with all the talk from the Left about Trump’s mental fitness and ability to lead a nation, how can they possibly still argue that when THIS is their frontrunner and likely nominee? Joe doesn’t even have any excuse to be tired or sound this weird either. He has been sitting at home and done an interview every now and then, with some Facebook live streams as well, but he’s not really leaving the house or going places. He’s certainly not appearing in front of the media every single day, often times for hours on end, like Trump. The only real explanation for this is the same thing that explains all of the other gaffes he has made in recent time: declining mental health. Now, Joe Biden is no stranger to gaffes. He’s basically been a gaffe machine since he was first elected as a Senator. Virtually every time he appeared on television, he made some sort of gaffe or newsworthy clip. Let’s not forget his accusation of Republicans trying to “put [African Americans] back in chains” back in the 2012 elections. Or the time when he told Obama that the signing of the Obamacare bill was “a big f***ing deal” (though he thought he was off-mic for that one). Time magazine even has an entire page of “Top 10 Joe Biden Gaffes”. Obviously, I took the liberty of looking them over for the purposes of further pointing out that this is nothing new for Joe and let’s say, they had a hard time dwindling it down to just ten. According to Time, during a White House St. Patrick’s Day celebration, Biden “briefly mourned the death of the Irish Prime minister’s mother.” What’s the gaffe? She was still alive. Back in April of 2009, VP Biden was asked on NBC’s “Today Show” what he would tell relatives if they wanted to fly to Mexico. He said: “I would tell members of my family, and I have, I wouldn’t go anywhere in confined places right now. It’s not that it’s going to Mexico, it’s that you are in a confined aircraft. When one person sneezes, it goes everywhere through the aircraft. That’s me.” This was back during the swine flu epidemic, which the Obama administration had been trying to keep from causing unnecessary panic at the time. Back in January of 2007, Joe said of Obama: “I mean, you got the first mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy.” Keep in mind that Joe was also running for president at this time, so it was a very weird and clearly racist “compliment” to give to Obama. Back in June of 2006, Joe Biden said: “In Delaware, the largest growth of population is Indian Americans, moving from India. You cannot go to a 7-11 or a Dunkin’ Donuts unless you have a slight Indian accent. I’m not joking.” That one is pretty much a classic. I obviously won’t go over every single gaffe the guy made (far too many to fit into a single article), but the point is that Joe has been like this for a long time. However, his old age has made his gaffes even worse. His declining mental health is perfectly clear for anyone to see, even simply by spending a few minutes, or 21 seconds, listening to Joe talk. The guy very frequently doesn’t know where he is, what year it is, what events happened at what time, who his wife and sister are, and with this latest flub, I doubt even he knew what he was talking about. Again, I assume he was talking about the possibility of delaying the election as a result of the virus, but he goes about making that point in a very strange and unintelligible manner. And keep in mind, again, this was him with REST from the campaign trail and not having to talk to people all that often. The only reason he still holds interviews is because he is the likely presidential nominee for the Democrat party and this is an election year, so he has to be out there in the spotlight sometimes and to some degree. But he doesn’t have to outright deal with the crisis or speak to the media every day for hours like his opponent, the President of the United States. He has plenty of time to formulate his thoughts and really think about what it is he wants to say, what messages he wants to convey and what points to get across. He failed at doing all of those things in that 21-second clip. He is very clearly mentally unfit to run for president, let alone actually run the country. Ephesians 4:27 “And give no opportunity to the devil.”
