Over the weekend, Texas was hit by Hurricane Harvey, with Houston getting the worst of the rain. And perhaps one of the biggest stories of this hurricane is what happened when a cab driver found a Cooper’s hawk hunkered down in his cab, frightened as can be. William Bruso, the cab driver, made and uploaded a series of videos beginning with his encounter with the frightened bird, followed by him driving to his home and attempting to get the bird to fly away. After that update, however, things turned for the worst… at least for any liberal snowflake watching. Bruso showed the bird, whom he’s caringly nicknamed “Harvey the Hurricane Hawk”, hanging out on a makeshift perch with a chicken heart for it to eat and some water next to that. Then, Bruso continued to narrate and the camera pans over to another person in the house. However, the shot also shows… wait for it… a confederate flag. *GASP* “How?! How could anyone hang a confederate flag in their own home? That must mean he’s racist!” was basically what some people in the comments section of the video were saying. Yep. The conversation in the comments section went from being about this kind-hearted guy taking care of a frightened bird in the middle of a massive storm to being about how offensive the flag is and how racist or stupid he is. One guy literally commented “aww, what a nice g- oh **** sake there’s a confederate flag.”, which naturally garnered a bunch of attention from conservatives that defend Bruso for having the flag in his own home. Funny enough, that one comment he made received over 600 responses from the last time I checked. Some of them were funny, with one saying “ah man this very nice guy just gave me 200 dollars to get out of debt and helped me through my hardest days… oh wow he has different views from me **** HIM.” Which actually got a response from the original commenter: “’Different views’ is like being a fan of different movies, different sports. Having a confederate flag hanging in your house does actually make you a bit of a dick, tbh.” I’m willing to bet that the hawk doesn’t think Bruso is a “dick”. I bet that, if Harvey the Hurricane Hawk could talk, its first words wouldn’t be “wow, man, you have a confederate flag in your house? I’m outta here, you racist.” No, it’d probably be something along the lines of “wow, thank you sir! That freaky weather was scaring me! What’s that over there? That red thing with blue diagonal, crossing stripes and stars on it? Oh, who cares?!” This guy went from being a generally well-liked person for saving this hawk and tending to it to being on the receiving end of hateful liberal comments that steer the topic of conversation away from the main point: the bird. I’ve seen plenty of people throughout these video series saying negative things, or at least implying negative things about Bruso, with one person saying: “This confederate flag tells me all I need to know.” As though the flag definitely means that he’s racist and hateful and it makes his efforts to help out the poor bird null and void. The good news is that not everyone in his comments section is a brainwashed, entitled social justice warrior who focuses on the wrong things. There are plenty of other people, good people that legitimately love what the guy is doing, regardless of the flag being there. And most don’t even mention the flag. They just care that the hawk is safe and sound and that the guy is doing the best he can with what he has to take good care of the bird. But it’s truly sad that snowflake liberals will get triggered (that means annoyed or enraged) over the fact that he has a confederate flag and immediately assume he’s a racist, sexist, homophobic bigot and will completely forget the reason they even clicked on the video in the first place. Liberal hatred can truly cloud their minds, huh? They immediately forgot the video was about the well-being of a frightened bird and immediately focused on something that has absolutely nothing to do with the bird. It’s a good thing the hurricane wasn’t named Hurricane Robert. Otherwise, things might’ve been worse. But it’s truly sad and ridiculous what Leftists get annoyed by and wish to make the big topic of conversation. That’s liberal hatred in a nutshell. And the worst part is that they don’t recognize it as hate, even if you tell them. Antifa attacks people that have different opinions, but they don’t consider that as hateful. These people are judging the man that’s taking care of a scared bird not because of his actions, but because of what he adorns his home with. And they don’t see that as being hateful towards a guy who’s simply trying to take care of one of God’s creatures. I’m thankful that there were mostly positive comments giving the guy praise for what he’s doing and even some giving him tips to take care of the bird (who is now under the care of a local wildlife organization). Most people who saw that video loved what the guy was doing for the bird during the storm and couldn’t care less about what he had in his home. Some people even LOVED that he had the confederate flag in his house and were defending him for having it. I’m just glad to see that there were more positive comments than negative comments in this video. It just goes to show truly how in the minority that leftist way of thinking is. Most people that read those comments made sure to defend Bruso and his right to hang that flag, particularly IN HIS OWN HOME. And I’m certainly glad that most people didn’t even really care about the flag being there. As I’ve said in the past: the Left may be loud, but they’re not the majority. Genesis 1:26 “Then God said, ‘Let us make Man in our image, after out likeness. And let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over the livestock and over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.”
