Have you ever heard an atheist say becoming an atheist saved his life? Me neither. Non-believers largely tend to dismiss Christians when they witness to them – usually Christians tell their stories of how they came to Jesus and how transforming such conversion was in their lives. There’s usually emotions involved on the part of the Christians that non-believers simply dismiss because they cannot comprehend. If you’re a non-believer, then this message is for you. Trust me, you’ve got nothing to lose by reading this – and a lot to gain. You see, if you’re a non-believer, you probably believe in evolution – that is, you don’t believe God created you but rather you believe you’re the result of millions and millions of accidents and you’re lucky to be here. What happens when you look at yourself in the mirror? Well, you probably see a monkey – after all, evolutionists think that man comes from the ape. That’s quite a depressing picture – so you see a monkey and you have no hope for anything beyond the limited amount of time you get in this life. But what happens when a Christian looks at himself in the mirror? Well, we see PURPOSE. Some unbelievers do define their own purpose, don’t get me wrong. Some set noble goals, some not so much. Among these goals you may find: to make as much money as you can, to have as much sex as you can, to drink as much as you can, to climb Mount Everest, to drive a better car than your neighbor, to have a better job than your brother or to cure cancer. Some of the unbelievers goals are worthy, some are driven by pride or selfishness. But the problem is what happens when they don’t reach their goals? The frustration that comes from always wanting more – more power, more money or even wanting to cure diseases like cancer, as noble as that may be, unless you’re successful, the frustration is gigantic. Don’t get me wrong – there are a lot of GOOD people who are not Christians – not selfish or proud. But even these good people know that something’s missing. They, too, get frustrated sometimes when they can't accomplish their goals. It's natural, in this competitive society, where they measure themselves against their fellow men. They mean well, but when they can’t accomplish their goals, frustration floods their hearts. It’s sad to watch because it’s avoidable… But what happens when a Christian can't accomplish his goal? The difference with Christians is the fact that we know... WHOSE we are and WHOSE PLAN we’re to follow. We know that, if we want to cure cancer but we can’t, it’s probably not our purpose in life. As saddening as this reality might be, we face failures with a different attitude. We know God is in control and if He doesn’t want me to cure cancer, then curing cancer is not in His plan for me. And I accept it, knowing that curing cancer is somebody else’s purpose, and mine is different. For example, I truly believe from the bottom of my heart that creating this blog is God’s purpose for me. Will we be cash-positive one day? I don’t know – but that’s irrelevant. God has blessed me with multiple sources of income and I use my money to fund things like this – hopefully, to help you. But what makes us, Christians, so confident about what we’re doing? Glad you asked… Five Things Christians Know That Unbelievers Would Benefit FromThere are five things we know in our hearts that non-believers would benefit from understanding:
1. We know we’re saved – the minute we accepted Jesus as our Lord and savior, we were saved. Saved from sin, and saved for a purpose. He has a purpose for all of us. 2.We know God knows everything about us. He knows our needs and deepest thoughts and desires. Please read Psalm 139:1-4. This Psalm was written by David (King David of Israel and Judah – the warrior and the same person who defeated Goliath): ‘O Lord, you have examined my heart and know everything about me. You know when I sit down or stand up. You know my thoughts even when I’m far away. You see me when I travel and when I rest at home. You know everything I do. You know what I’m going to say even before I say it, Lord.’ To unbelievers, the idea that God knows everything about them is scary. And it should be – being scared is actually a warning sign that no unbeliever should ignore. If you’re one, get right with God and enjoy the comfort of knowing He’s right with you. 3. We know God is with us all the time. He protects us, He guides us. If you continue reading Psalm 139: 5-12: ‘Such knowledge is too wonderful for me, too great for me to understand. I can never escape from your Spirit! I can never get away from your presence! If I go up to heaven you’re there. If I go down to the grave, you’re there. If I ride the wings of the morning, if I dwell by the farthest oceans, even there your hand will guide me, and your strength will support me. I could ask the darkness to hide me and the light around me to become night – but even in darkness I cannot hide from you. To you the night shines as bright as day. Darkness and light are the same to you.’ Don’t you love the idea of having God constantly looking after us? 4. We know God has a wonderful purpose for us. Sometimes finding that purpose is not easy – to some people, it comes out naturally. Think of such talents as Mozart or Edgar Allan Poe. Or Michael Jordan or Andre Agassi. To most of us, finding that one purpose can be a long process, but He promises there is one for us. Continuing with Psalm 139: 13-16 (abortionist should pay special attention to the following verses): ‘You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body and knit me together in my mother’s womb. Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex! Your workmanship is marvelous – how well I know it. You watched me as I was being formed in utter seclusion, as I was woven together in the dark of the womb, you saw me before I was born. Every day of my life was recorded in you book. Every moment was laid out before a single day had passed’. He has a plan for us... 5. We know God has us constantly in His thoughts. From Psalm 139 17-18: ‘How precious are your thoughts about me, O God. They cannot be numbered! I can’t even count them; they outnumber the grains of sand! And when I wake up, you are still with me!’ Friend, if you’re a non-believer I urge you to open your heart. You've got nothing to lose and everything to gain. Don’t believe the lies the Left tells you. You’re not a descendant of an ape – you’re a child of Almighty God. You are valuable. You have royal blood in your veins! Your life doesn’t end when you die – you can live for an eternity. You have a PURPOSE – a God given purpose that you need to seek. Find out what it is and take possession of your blessings!
