In this day and age, with the dominance of social media and its censorship of conservatives, not to mention poll after poll indicating a rise in popularity for socialism and communism among America’s youth, it is easy to get discouraged about the future of this country. However, a recent poll by Young America’s Foundation (YAF) and Echelon Insights, reported by TownHall, shows a rather interesting picture about the way in which America’s youth views this country. According to the poll, 82% of surveyors held a “very” or “somewhat” favorable opinion of the American flag, with 91% of high-school students and 73% of high school graduates saying the same. This tells us something very interesting which I will get to in a minute, though I doubt you haven’t figured it out yet. In any case, 57% of respondents said “they believe America is ‘exceptional and unique’ and is a country that ‘values liberty.’” 54% also felt that America offers “opportunity for all who work for it,” and 46% said America is both a “good example for other countries” and that the nation “values justice”; 43% said the country “values equality.” 63% of respondents said they felt “extremely” or “very” comfortable standing for the national anthem and 58% were comfortable with reciting the Pledge of Allegiance. 80% of surveyors also reported a “very” or “somewhat” favorable view of war veterans, 75% favor the military, 72% the Constitution, 65% the Founding Fathers, and 57% favored the history of this country as a whole. Interestingly, 34% of respondents said they would be “extremely” or “very” willing to serve the country if we were to be attacked, 31% said they would serve if we went to war and 30% said they would serve during “peacetime.” Now, there is a very important aspect to this poll, which takes me back to one of the figures earlier: the 91% of high school students and 73% of graduates who have a favorable opinion of the American flag. This is an indication of the sort of Marxist indoctrination that students go through post-high school, specifically in college. The demographical makeup of the poll is as follows: 47% of respondents were male, while 53% were female. 42% of surveyors were high schoolers, or high-school aged, 13% were students working towards an associate’s degree, 31% working towards a bachelor’s degree and 7% towards a graduate degree. 21% of respondents reported being either “very” or “somewhat” conservative, 33% said they were “very” or “somewhat” progressive and 33% said they were moderate. Perhaps the most important figure here is the number of high schoolers. A sizeable majority of the people surveyed here are still in high school, and while it’s been a long while since I have been in high school, I don’t exactly remember it as having been extremely Leftist to the point where I felt they were essentially indoctrinating me. Now, this was some time ago, as I said, and I was a bit more liberal at the time, so maybe I just didn’t really notice it too much, but I have no doubt that high schools generally indoctrinate kids less than universities do. For example, there is this story about the daughter of a Republican Congressional candidate from Michigan who went on Twitter and outright begged for people to not vote for her father because he and she disagree on issues like socialism, communism, “systemic racism”, and other Leftist garbage. With the candidate being a conservative, I doubt he didn’t teach his daughter the right things. But whatever he may have taught her, it’s clear that the college he sent her to erased all of that and rewired her brain to be more like their desired communist puppet. It’s no surprise at all that “college-educated” voters tend to vote Democrat, since colleges all attempt, to one extent or another, to indoctrinate kids to be against Republicans, conservatives, God and the country itself. So it really is no wonder to find such numbers in the YAF poll, considering that a sizable portion of the surveyors were still in high school. This is no knock on YAF, of course, but rather a warning of what sort of damage colleges do: they are meant to destroy any and all patriotism found within kids. Parents tend to teach their kids to love this country, but colleges undo all of that. The ONLY reason the Left wants to make college free for anyone is so that more and more people attend and so that more and more people get indoctrinated. People, including young generations, tend to be more patriotic when they are not subjected to mass indoctrination in colleges. Of course, government schools still try and do that, albeit to a lesser extent, but protecting oneself from the indoctrination of colleges is really the best solution, in my opinion. Leftists might be calling to defund the police, but conservatives should be calling to defund universities (for a variety of reasons, not simply because they indoctrinate children, considering many colleges have ties to China, and that alone poses a massive national security threat for this country). But apart from that, I am happy to see that even younger generations still typically hold conservative, patriotic beliefs. We must ensure, however, that the Left does not succeed in eroding such beliefs from our youth. Happy Independence Day! Psalm 119:9 “How can a young man keep his way pure? By guarding it according to your word.”

You know what the ironic thing is about disrespecting the flag by throwing it on the ground, stomping on it, or setting it ablaze? The fact that that’s the only flag in the world that grants you the right to be that disrespectful. If you do that same thing to a Mexican flag in Mexico, you’re likely to get arrested for it. You do that in any country with that country’s flag, you’re likely to get arrested for it. The fact of the matter is that these “Americans” have no idea what it’s like to live in a socialistic society. Yes, Obama was working towards making America socialist, but he ultimately failed. He failed because the Founding Fathers were smart enough to place restraints on the government with checks and balances and with presidential term limits. Obama could only ever have 8 years of running the country. At least directly. He maybe could’ve had a puppet in the White House, but thankfully that didn’t happen. Now, back to my previous point about Americans having no idea what it’s like to live under absolute socialism. That has its pros and cons. The obvious pros are that no one had to suffer under socialism here in the States, even with Obama. But they also don’t know what others in the world have to suffer through. There are billions of people in this world that don’t know what true freedom is. I’m a foreigner myself. I came to this country when I was in my preteens, so I didn’t experience socialism in anyway except for one: I wasn’t allowed to enter my country of origin (Argentina), say to visit family, and leave without having a little piece of paper that said both parents authorized me leaving the country. Even if I’m with either or both parents. You see, in Argentina, children belong to the government. If you want to do anything with them outside of the country, the government will stop you if you don’t have that “authorization” paper. Now, that’s relatively understandable for say, a five-year-old. But, like I said, I was in my preteens and entering my teenage years. I wasn’t some little kid that didn’t know what was happening. But the government didn’t care. That’s socialism (at least one aspect) for you. The government is the supreme ruler and you must obey everything it says, regardless of how silly its rules are. (Don’t mistake that for following the rule of law in the U.S., mind you). But you see, America was structured the way it was for the sole purpose of keeping things like that from happening. They wanted the government to have as little power as possible while still being able to protect its citizens from harm, both from within and without. “Government’s first duty is to protect the people, not run their lives.” – Ronald Reagan. They wanted the government to be powerful enough to protect its citizens but not so powerful that it can and will run people’s lives. Socialism does the exact opposite. It doesn’t care about protecting its people and most certainly runs their lives. So that’s what’s so ironic about disrespecting the flag: They do that to the very flag that gives them the freedom to do that. And they want a government that will ultimately take away many of their freedoms, including that one. They believe good to be evil and evil to be good. What’s very clearly evil (abortion, transgenderism, sexual lust and immorality) they believe to be good. And what’s clearly good (God, Christ, prayer, worship of God, what the American flag represents) they believe to be evil. The Left has worked well to destroy all things that are good in this country. And they’ve deceived people into believing that the U.S. is the single biggest detriment to the world in its entire history. That’s why there are people that disrespect the flag as they do. They have taught people that socialism, the governmental equivalent to a chokehold, is good, while capitalism, the governmental equivalent to a handshake (as in both parties are equal and free to do business), is evil. But here’s the kicker, while the Left believes it’s succeeding, God is watching and chuckles at the sight of evil believing it will be victorious. Isaiah 5:20 “Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter.” |
