Have you ever heard the phrase “a murderer isn’t a murderer because he murders people – he murders people because he’s a murderer”? Or the phrase “a thief isn’t a thief because he steals – he steals because he’s a thief”? These are the phrases I think about when thinking about China….
You see, when China was allowed into the World Trade Organization (WTO) in spite of its tyrannic and murderous regime, the hope was that they would become more civil if they were around more civil countries and give up their tyrannical ways. It didn’t matter that the regime had massacred millions of people. It didn’t matter that they had child labor. “If only they knew how wonderful freedom is”, we thought, “they’ll surely become a democracy some day”….
Oh, how naive we’ve been…
Because, you see, a murderous regime isn’t a murderous regime because it massacres its people – a murderous regime massacres its people because it’s a murderous regime. That’s just who they are…
Communists aren’t murderers because they kill people, they’re murderers because they’re communists…it’s who they are. Same with Socialism. Same with Liberalism. It’s their worldview, a world in which your life doesn’t matter unless you’re useful to them in some way. If you disagree with them, they have no issues killing you.
And now we’re facing this pandemic, which best case scenario China failed to alert the world of the seriousness of the problem and worst case scenario it’s a coordinated attack. We know the Trump Administration and other countries are looking into what really happened – I wonder if we’ll ever truly know. Judging by the seemingly over-reaction on the part of almost all countries around the world, you would think they must have thought this could have been a coordinated attack. Think of 9/11 – first plane hits the first tower “oh, my goodness! What a horrible accident!”. Then the second plane hits the second tower “Oh, no…this is a coordinated attack”…Obviously by the 3rd attack we knew…and we grounded all flights, because we didn’t know how many more planes out there were carrying terrorists ready to crash them into their pre-determined targets. “Are we talking about 4 targets? Six? A dozen?” We didn’t know so we grounded all flights.
With the Chinese Coronavirus, something similar seems to have happened – why are we closing down the economies? Does it make sense given that mortality rate will most likely prove to be closer to the flu? Was this the right decision?
Unlike with the terror attacks on 9/11, when the general public witnessed exactly what happened and concluded rightly that this was, indeed, a coordinated attack, with the Coronavirus it’s not so clear to us. But it’s probably more clear to the Trump Administration and all these governments that chose to shut down their countries.
Perhaps, like that deadly morning on 9/11, they didn’t know exactly what they were dealing with. “Is it one strain of this virus? Two? Does it kill only older people or people with vulnerabilities? Is it a coordinated attack? If so, who are the targets?”…they probably didn’t know then. Do they know now?
There are two possibilities regarding how this pandemic began:
What to do about China, then? In either scenario? Does it matter what the true scenario is?
Back to my initial comment, a murderous regime isn’t a murderous regime because it massacres people – it massacres people because it is a murderous regime.
What do you do with a murderous regime? Do you trust them? Do you do business with them? Do you legitimize them by allowing them in global organizations such as the WTO?
The best course of action is to STOP doing business with them altogether – they’re not trustworthy.
American companies need to bring their manufacturing back home – or look for other, more civil, countries to manufacture their products.
China needs to be kicked out of every single global organization – or America and all other civil countries need to defund those organizations out of existence.
Seize all international assets owned by China. China cannot own any company in the civilized world, because they bring their murderous mindset to a civil world. China is a bad influence. They’re communists and communists are murderous.
I don't anticipate any massive announcements if the Trump administration moved towards choking the murderous regime in China - it would happen much like during the Cold War when we choked up the USSR economy. Cold wars tend to be fought on the economic front. But if Trump doesn't win re-election, a Biden (or any other Democrat) presidency would double down on China and soon enough rather than having China become more civilized, WE would become more like China.
We love the Chinese people, but we hate murderous regimes. They need to democratize, civilize and respect life before they can be allowed into the civilized world.
But before we fight the enemy in the Chinese murderous regime, we need to fight the enemy within - those in our own country that love the Chinese murderous regime and would love to replicate it in America just like they're doing in Democrat-run States, with outrageous "stay-at-home" orders. Communists hate freedom. They are the true enemy.
